We’re Adopting!

We are very excited to announce that we are growing our family through adoption!

The desire to adopt has been a part of our story for a long time. Even before we were married, I felt a deep calling toward adoption and dreamed of one day welcoming a child into our family this way. When I was in high school, I actually planned on moving to Russia to work in an orphanage, but God had other plans for my life. But my desire for adoption has always been a part of my life.

Over time, Michael's heart was moved as well, and together, our shared desire to adopt has grown stronger. In recent years, that dream has taken root and blossomed—and now, we are filled with hope and excitement as we prepare to open our hearts and home to a precious little one.

Beginning our adoption journey has filled us both with great joy and anticipation as we step out into the unknown, trusting God for wisdom and provision. One of the main reasons we were hesitant to start the adoption process was due to the large expense. It’s sad that there are so many children waiting to be adopted, and I believe many willing families, but the high adoption fees are not doable for so many people.

Michael and I are very pro-life, and when Roe V. Wade was overturned, we rejoiced! Since it was overturned, there are more precious babies who need to be adopted, and we felt the Lord tugging on our hearts that we were supposed to be part of the solution.

But what about the money!!??

The financial aspect has been our only hesitation. Spending fifteen years in ministry did not allow us to save the amount of money needed to adopt an infant. But we still felt God tugging at our hearts.

We began talking to friends who had adopted, and they encouraged us to step out in faith and trust that God would provide for our needs along the way. So here we are, stepping out in faith, trusting that the Lord will indeed provide.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. - Proverbs 3:5-6
